Hello everyone! I’m Quỳnh from the Marketing department at NokaSoft.

This time, we had a conversation with Mr. Trung, Director of the Frontend Team, who joined NokaSoft this August. Mr. Trung shared about his career, why he joined NokaSoft, and what he hopes to achieve in the future to build a stronger team, contributing to the company’s growth. Let’s listen to his insights!

First, could you share a bit about your career and why you chose NokaSoft?

After graduating in 2011, I worked for a company specializing in products for open-source platforms for five years. I was fortunate to work with top products in the U.S. and EU markets, which helped me quickly gain valuable knowledge—from understanding requirements, handling tasks, and supporting users to staying up to date with new technologies. In the next four years, I worked for a large outsourcing company serving the Japanese market, located in Duy Tan Street—Hanoi’s IT hub. As a frontend developer, I was involved in developing and helping manage major projects for the company. However, I’m someone who enjoys new experiences and challenges, and I realized that NokaSoft is an excellent place to learn and discover my potential, which is why I decided to join the company.

What role are you currently taking on?

As a Frontend Director, I am currently working with my team of engineers to design, develop, operate, and maintain “NKKdigital Enterprise Digital Transformation Solutions” and “Recoms Customer Interaction Platform.”

To ensure the team works efficiently, I need to create an environment and a clear roadmap for the team. Additionally, I manage and guide them to collaborate smoothly with backend developers and web designers to improve the product’s usability. I also take time to attend workshops introducing the latest technologies and share these with the team to help improve our products. Occasionally, I meet with clients to discuss technology strategies and gather their feedback, which helps us make necessary updates and changes to the technology.

What do you think makes working at NokaSoft appealing?

NokaSoft is a young company, and I believe what makes it attractive is that team members can challenge themselves with many new things in an environment of “freedom and responsibility.” It’s a place where you can ask questions openly without worrying about hierarchy because the company respects its employees.

Additionally, NokaSoft brings together many dynamic, creative, and proactive members. Engineers here work with the mindset of being “explorers and creators of better products and services” rather than just “system implementers.” Working at NokaSoft allows me to fully utilize my capabilities while also trying out many exciting new tasks.

Could you share some essential skills for a Frontend Developer?

You need to master the basics of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. This allows you to be flexible in using libraries and frameworks without being mechanical. Take time to read the code of these frameworks to understand their system thinking. Also, learn about UI/UX—you’ll make customers much happier.

No matter how many technical skills you accumulate in your career, there are always other essential skills for your work, like soft skills. For a frontend developer, I believe you need to hone your communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. Always strive to maintain professionalism on your journey through this creative and fascinating career. And if possible, get hands-on experience by interning or joining fresher training programs to gain the most objective view of the development field.

Could you share your future goals at NokaSoft and your mission and passion?

It’s been two months since I joined the company, and I’ve gradually become familiar with my work. Although we’ve been working online due to the pandemic, I haven’t felt bored or tired; instead, I find joy in my work, thanks to my enthusiastic and kind colleagues. In the future, I want to contribute more to the company by:

– Creating a dynamic working environment where people can learn from each other and encourage one another to excel in their work.

– Through learning, I want to bring more fulfillment to people, such as achievements and value in their work and expertise.

– I also want to learn from and absorb knowledge from my talented colleagues to improve my technical skills.

– Lastly, I aspire to become an entrepreneur who can contribute value to society by learning more about business, so I can not only understand “how” but also “what” to do as an engineer.

I feel that I am making progress every day in this exciting environment. I am very grateful for the opportunity that NokaSoft has given me, and I hope that my colleagues and I will continue to grow in our careers.

Do you have any advice for those aspiring to join as Frontend Developers in the future?

At NokaSoft, no matter what path you choose in the future, we are ready to give you the opportunity to develop yourself and move forward, ensuring a clear and promising career path. We are also eager to find like-minded colleagues. I’d like to quote Heraclitus, “The only constant in life is change,” to imply that the only thing unchanging is change itself. Never stop challenging yourself, exploring, and learning. I hope you find the next step in your career path.
